About Sam
I have worked in the music industry for the past 15 years, initially as a jazz saxophonist and more recently as a composer and orchestrator for Film, TV and Games. I have always taught during that time, both privately and in school and I'm passionate about passing on my passion and knowledge about how music works.
As a composer my recent credits in the Film & TV world include composing additional music for Sony Pictures 'Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire' alongside composer Dario Marianelli, music programming on Warner Bros. 'Wonka' and orchestrating on HBO / BBC’s 'His Dark Materials Season 3'.

I am a highly experienced composer, orchestrator and arranger and I have been teaching music theory and harmony both privately and in schools for the past 15 years.
I have helped countless students pass their ABRSM Grade 5 theory exams so that they can go on to enjoy the higher grades on their instruments. I am passionate about music and how it is made and my lessons are tailored to give students a broad understanding and appreciation of harmony, rhythm, notation etc, often in the framework of studying for the Grade 5 exam but also in a more general way.
Lessons are normally 30 mins weekly but can go up to 45 or 60 if needed. I offer lessons both in person and online.
