Online and Face to Face
I offer both online and face to face music theory lessons. I use a clear and structured approach to teaching, and for online lessons you only need a laptop or tablet with a webcam.
Students
I teach music theory to students aged 7 and up, including adults. I cover ABRSM Grades 1 to 5, as well as composition, arranging, and the fundamentals of conducting. Lessons are suitable for beginners through to intermediate level.
Lessons are tailored to your goals, whether that is preparing for ABRSM exams, improving your understanding of notation and harmony, or applying theory to your own music.
Whether you are studying to support an instrument, working towards exams, or developing your overall musicianship, I adapt lessons to suit your needs.
My teaching philosophy
I believe that true enjoyment comes from making consistent progress. I structure lessons so students can see clear improvement each week, with accountability and optional practice plans where needed.
I keep teaching direct and practical, avoiding unnecessary complexity. I use a combination of traditional methods and real musical examples, alongside digital tools such as apps and video resources.
