About Alex
Hello! My name is Alex and I am a professional research librarian and naturalist. I graduated from Ball State University in 2012 with a degree in Natural Resources Management, with a focus on Environmental Education and Literacy and a minor in History. For the last ten years, I have worked as an educator at zoos, parks, and museums all across the United States! I love science and history so much I made it my job to share that love with others! I hope I can help you learn to love it too!

I am a firm believer that there are no stupid questions and no one is incapable of learning. I see it as my job as a tutor to help students find the best way they learn. I personally feel that a good lesson, one that allows the information to stick with you, is a conversation. With more than a decade of experience as an educator, I first like to assess students' understanding of the foundational knowledge of the subject and build on the gaps we find together. Depending on the students' needs, we may do this through worksheets, quizzes, or question-and-answer activities. I have professional experience teaching students of all ages and am open to teaching science and history for grades 1-6 as well as biology (standard and AP), ecology, history (standard and AP), geography, and civics for grades 7-12. I also have experience tutoring college-level biology, ecology, and history.
