About Barbara

I began to be interested in art from a very young age, I do not remember exactly when, combining painting, drawing and collage both analog and digital. It was always self-taught since until 2007 I did not study formal or informal art. That year I started with a basic analog photography course in the free culture workshops of the City of Buenos Aires. Then I continued studying privately at the FotoClub School of Photography in Buenos Aires, where I learned advanced analog photography and laboratory. When I finished high school, I began to study Audiovisual Arts at the former IUNA, but due to family problems I had to leave to start working. In 2011 I began my formal studies at the Andy Goldstein School of Creative Photography where I received the title of Professional Photographer in 2013. After finishing my degree, I continued training through workshops, courses and specializations ranging from Analog Photography Experimental to Photoshop Retouching for Fashion, going through different contents that encompass my artistic knowledge. Since 2014 I began to work as a Freelance Photographer under the pseudonym Barbara Holly in different sectors, especially in fashion and product photography, combining it with social, musical and artistic photography, with a gender perspective, always trying to develop new concepts with the artistic contribution that I can offer through my gaze.

About the lesson

My teaching method is through self-knowledge and personal search for self-image. I like being able to listen to what the person needs and to be able to design a specific learning plan together. My knowledge about art and photography ranges from the most basic to a more advanced knowledge, so it is adaptable to the needs of the student. When I start to work with a student or a group I usually ask why they are studying art and photography. We start from that base to build together a path in which each one feels comfortable to create from their point of view, from their personal history and thus be able to create accordingly. My classes are usually very interactive, I like going back and forth, not only giving theoretical concepts but also exercising continuous practice because I think that is how it is when the concepts are really internalized. My areas of greatest expertise are analog and digital photography. Within these two fields as similar as they are different, I specialize in fashion photography, product for entrepreneurs, landscaping, experimental photography, analog and digital collage, conceptual photography and social photography, specifically in musical events.
