About Kari

I studied all I could in High School of photography and fell in love with Antonelli Institute my freshman year. I knew where my path would lead. After I graduated in 2013, I jumped right into business! Shooting my very first wedding and several portraits since. I've lost count of the number of weddings I've photographed (upwards of 100+) and same with portraits! My passion is Commercial Photography and Still Life. I've worked with companies such as LifeTouch and George Street Photography to name a few. I can't wait to help you and so many others on your journey!

About the lesson

I would love to create lessons that fit your needs! I love to help people that are looking to break into the photography biz or even just help hobbyists learn more to make themselves feel good. My teaching methods are visual and hands on when available.

A typical lesson plan could be:

1. Knowing your Camera - We will go over and explore all the odds and ends for your camera. (I'm a Nikon girlie but each camera has the same basics)

2. What Makes Good Photos? - We will get into the rules of photography composition, like the rule of thirds, leading lines and framing. Through practical exercises and exploration of iconic photographs, you will see the essence of compelling imagery and apply all you've learned to your own work!

3. Capture It! - Let's get you out and practicing! I will pick a theme and have you create a series of photographs. We will then critique your themed portfolio to see identify strengths and weaknesses.

4. Continued Workings - Continuing your photographic journey, we will focus on refining techniques, such as macro photography or portrait composition. By experimenting with different styles and subjects, furthering your understanding of visual storytelling and refining artistic vision.

5. Selecting the Best! - Lastly, we will meet to select the best images from our journey together and create a portfolio worthy of showing off! We will identify your techniques with each individual image so you can reference and refine as you continue your journey through art.
