About Quentin
Hi, I’m Quentin Singer — a guitarist, songwriter, and music producer with a passion for helping students unlock their full potential on the guitar. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2019, where I studied guitar and music production under world-class instructors including David Newsman (flamenco), Joe Stump (metal), Don Lappin (rock), and Scott Tarulli (rock-fusion). Since then, I’ve toured the USA with my alt-rock band Heavy Sleeper, worked in legendary studios such as The Village in Santa Monica, and collaborated with talents such as Shadoe Stevens and Tom Canning.
Alongside performing and producing, teaching has always been a central part of my career — from private lessons to working with music schools in Washington D.C. (Back 2 Rock, In Home Music Teachers) and Los Angeles (Los Angeles Music Teachers), and now in Dublin, where I work with students of all ages, styles, and skill levels. My goal is simple: make learning guitar inspiring, rewarding, and tailored to each player’s unique journey.

I’ve been playing guitar since I was 12, and over the years I’ve experienced a wide range of teaching styles — from my early childhood lessons to studying with world-class guitarists at Berklee College of Music. Today, with YouTube and thousands of online tutorials, it’s easier than ever to learn a song or concept in just a few hours. But what those videos can’t give you is the personal guidance, feedback, and mentorship that comes from working directly with a teacher who understands your goals and can help you reach them efficiently.
There’s no single “right” way to teach guitar, but in my seven years as an instructor I’ve built my methods around three core principles: patience, practice, and purpose. I meet students where they are, adapting lessons to their pace and musical interests, while ensuring that each step has a clear goal and builds toward lasting skills. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced player looking to refine your technique, my aim is to make your learning experience both enjoyable and deeply rewarding. Introduction to four-part chords and modal scales Basic understanding of guitar improvisation or ‘jamming’ using diverse scale patterns Focused study on specified genres of guitar music and artists tailored to the students' interests and musical tastes. Advanced Students: Those who already have a robust understanding of intermediate guitar techniques and music theory concepts. Curriculum: ‘Conservatory level’ guitar theory and music theory concepts explored with advanced ear training Overview of advanced improvisation techniques and practices Focused study on specific guitar style, tailored to students' goals and ambitions

I had a great first lesson with Quentin. He was able to quickly gauge my level and get me straight into learning some fun pieces with great tips on technique.
After the lesson, I soon received my practice material via email which I can’t wait to work on during the week.
If you want to start making progress with your playing again, give this man a shout.
I got my first lesson with Quentin and it really was an eye-opener. I'm a beginner and although I was somewhat practicing similar exercises, my technique was abysmal and within the first 10 minutes Quentin already fixed a loooot of stuff I didn't learn correctly. Already booked follow up lessons. 10/10 would recommend.
Very patient, knowledgeable, and skilled. And my God, not to mention the speed. Can't wait to get there myself!Delighted with my first in-person lesson with Quentin - after quickly gauging my level of playing we went through some exercises that were tough but well-suited for me.
He was very well-prepared and didn't waste my time; once we were happy I had a decent grip of the material we moved on rather than wasting the class on practice which could be done on my own time. The hour flew by but also felt jam-packed, and he helped me make immediate improvements in areas I'd struggled with for ages - I could never get pinch harmonics to sound right, and he had me doing them in a couple of minutes. I'll definitely be continuing lessons with him!Quentin is an excellent guitar teacher. His lessons are super engaging again and tailored to my skill level. He’s helped me improve so much in a short time and I always look forward to every lesson. Highly recommend!
Quentin is a true professional. From your very first lesson you’ll be able to tell that he’s passionate about guitar and about helping you in your journey in learning the instrument. As someone who lacked confidence going in as an “older”/ adult learner, Quentin has showcased an amazing ability to meet me where I am, covering the basics but in a way that’s fun, interesting and keeps me motivated.
He is incredibly patient and thorough/ articulate with his explanations, making sure you really “get it.”
Not everyone that can “do,” can teach, but that is absolutely not the case with Quentin. He’s truly an amazing teacher and any student would be lucky to have the opportunity to learn under him, truly.
When your guitar teacher pulls out a Jim Root signature, you know he's the right guy! Quentin knows his stuff, and has good patience to teach. He other structures learning based on student's interest and their level.
I think Quentin is a really great guitar teacher. He did a trial lesson (which was free) with me first, which made me decide that I definitely wanted to continue with the lessons. He is very patient and his classes are very helpful in moving forward with the guitar! I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for guitar lessons!
Quentin is an exceptional teacher. He takes care to ensure that his students are receiving a thought out and tailored training plan. He is a very caring teacher, and creates a safe and stimulating environment for his students to learn and make mistakes. I would recommend Quentin to younger and older students alike who are interested in learning guitar, whatever their preferred genre may be.
“I had the pleasure of working with Quentin for guitar lessons, and I can't recommend him highly enough. He is an excellent music teacher, extremely knowledgeable in the field and so passionate of his craft that it made every lesson not just educational but inspiring. His kind and patient approach made learning music theory and guitar less intimidating and helped build my confidence in my abilities. Any student, beginner or otherwise, would be very lucky to have Quentin as their teacher..”
