About Courtney

Both on and off stage, Blue Jade is a vibrant personality and a creative force to be reckoned with. Not only is she a dynamic and expressive vocalist, songwriter, and DJ, but she is also an emerging producer who interweaves personal stories within her original work. Born and raised in the East Bay Area and now a San Diego transplant, Blue Jade has quickly made a name for herself with her first four releases on Ultra Records, Glasgow Underground, and San Diego based labels Music is 4 Lovers and Fireworks.

On stage Blue Jade traverses genres, spanning from House, Tech House, Melodic House & Techno, to Afro, Deep, and Organic House, Indie Dance, and UK Garage. Whether she is performing on big room stages or booming day clubs, her magnetic energy and evocative style seamlessly captivate any audience, and she continues to demonstrate that she knows how to read a crowd with confidence and poise.

About the lesson

As a teacher, it is important for me to understand each student's individual goals, skills, background, and music taste.

I have performed over 1300x at all types of venues and events, including pool parties, day clubs, night clubs, warehouses, fitness classes, wellness events, restaurants, bars, and backyard bbq's. I know how to read a crowd, curate a killer set, exude confidence on stage, engage and build relationships with fans, and am an organizational freak - so you're in good hands when it comes to getting set up properly. There are no silly questions when it comes to learning the ins and outs of how to mix and make music!

With me, you'll learn:
- How to mix (and mix exceptionally well!)
- Basic mixing techniques (beat matching, color fx, transitions, cueing, phrasing, understanding song structure as it relates to mixing, mixing in key, identifying energy levels in songs)
- How to build a well-balanced DJ set
- How to build confidence on stage
- How to discover and create your artist identity and build your brand
- How to read the crowd
- How to set yourself for success before, during, and after a dj gig
- How to organize and manage your music files
- And beyond - any specific things you want to learn I am happy to help with!

I offer 1-3 hr dj lesson sessions for all levels., as well as package deals and bundles for those who are serious about getting their foot in the door as a DJ/artist.

After completing 20 hours of my services, I offer a FREE content bonus (normally valued at $300)
- Students will receive a free 1 hour long set recording (both audio and video (with multiple POV's) to showcase their skills
- Together, we will analyze transitions, body language, etc and go over what to tweak and improve
- They choose to post the media on their socials to help increase their likelihood of getting booked.

I am beyond ecstatic to help you on your journey to becoming a DJ, and cover many things I wish I knew early on in my DJ career.
