About William

As a street performer, I interact with many different people and am constantly asked for a quick lesson on how to juggle. I have yet to meet a person that I could not at least teach to juggle 3 balls for a few moments. I have perfected my teaching on the streets so that I can teach anyone to juggle. I learned to juggle 7 years ago as part of physical therapy after a series of very serious surgeries, so juggling is very near to my heart. I am passionate about sharing the skill that has helped me so much in life with everyone that wants to learn. If you want to learn how to juggle or how to advance your juggling, I am the teacher for you!

Learn to juggle with the “infinity” method! This method is referred to as the “infinity” method because it will teach you to juggle in a cascade that follows an infinity sign, and will make you a master juggler that will allow you to juggle for an infinite length of time.

Lesson 1 will teach you the 3 ball cascade. After the 3 ball cascade is mastered, the student will be able to learn 3 ball basic, intermediate, and advanced tricks. With a solid understanding of 3 ball juggling, the student will be ready to learn 4 ball or 3 club juggling.

These lessons are for everyone! From kids to adults, anyone who can be patient with the process can learn to juggle to impress their friends and increase their hand-eye coordination. If you already know the basics of juggling but want to learn how to juggle other items such as clubs, rings, or danger items, I am the teacher for you! I will meet all students where ever they are in their juggling journey and help them progress to where they want to be. I look forward to juggling with you!

  • When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

My passion for juggling started in 2016. Juggling originally started as physical therapy for me. After my second brain surgery, I was told to learn a skill that would repeatedly enforce my hand-eye coordination to regain the coordination that was affected by the surgery. I quickly turned to juggle to improve my severely diminished hand-eye coordination. Once I figured out the three-ball cascade I was hooked and I have been juggling ever since.
  • Which artists or works affect you the most?

My juggling partner Jonathan Reid. Although most of my performances have been solo acts, my favorite performances have been my duo acts with Jonathan. Whenever we were working on an act, he would be showing me a new trick and encourage me to get better. His determination and passion for juggling have made me better as a juggler.
  • What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?

Surprisingly, hand-eye coordination is not the most important qualification to learn how to juggle. Instead, I would say that juggling teaches hand-eye coordination. If you do not consider yourself to be very coordinated, then juggling should be something you pursue to improve your coordination. The quality that is required to succeed in juggling is perseverance. Juggling is hard. Almost everyone has attempted to juggle at least once and then quickly gave up because they dropped 3 apples after 3 throws. What will make you successful in juggling is your determination and ability to pick up what you just dropped and try again. Determination leads to progress, and even the smallest rate of progress will eventually lead you to your goal.
  • What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Focus on what you can control. Do not give in to the temptation of quitting just because you are not seeing the final output yet. Focus on input goals rather than output goals. Work hard on what you can control and your determination will lead you to your end goal. Be patient with the process.
  • How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

Juggling makes me feel focused. Too often, I find my mind distracted and worried about too many things at once, but when I am juggling all of my focus has to be on juggling or I will drop what I am juggling. The forced focus of juggling is a very liberating feeling for anyone who is an over thinker. If you are an over thinker then juggling is for you!
  • What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

I would love to say that I am a world record holder. But I am not. However, a creative achievement that I am proud of is during the pandemic I made a couple of attempts to break the world record for longest continuous 3-club juggling. I never broke the record, but I nearly juggled for half of the record on one of my attempts. If there is ever another quarantine like there was in 2020 maybe I will start making attempts at the record again, but for now, I am proud of the determination and focus I showed to reach the duration of half the record.
  • Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

I am constantly impressed by all of my students and their successes, but I am often most impressed by my students who are in retirement age. Their determination to learn a new skill and motivation to keep working at it is impressive and inspires me to be learning new things and working hard no matter how old I am.
  • Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

My secret as a juggling professor on Superprof is to focus on the relationship with the student! I have met so many amazing people through Superprof. Focusing on building a relationship allows me to understand each student better so I can reach the student more effectively. Most importantly, focusing on the relationship with each student helps both of us enjoy every second of our lessons.
