I worked with Ondrej, both as an accompanist while he was a student learning trumpet at Edinburgh University and later as a soloist for his orchestra which he conducted.

Having played for the past 12 years, but not picked up the instrument since January, Ondrej has been crucial in rebuilding my confidence and proficiency in the trumpet. Thanks to his extensive knowledge, experience, and approachable nature, he has helped me to re-establish a crucial technical basis for playing. His focus on the fundamentals of the trumpet have been hugely beneficial, and I know will be invaluable, in future, in allowing me to play a wide variety of repertoire. The many new and interesting techniques and exercises Ondrej has provided, some of which I have never come across with other teachers, have made me think differently about the trumpet and how I play. I am an experienced amateur trumpet player and I have been studying with Ondřej in in-person as well as online lessons for over three years now. During this time, Ondřej has tremendously helped me to improve various aspects of my playing, such as breathing, repertoire, intonation, ear training, etc. In lessons, he creates a productive, friendly, and encouraging atmosphere and always finds the right explanation or exercises to help me with a certain technique or a difficult passage in a piece.
