About Devin
I am a professional teacher with 5.5+ years of classroom experience and am up-to-date on various methods typically used in current classrooms. I have taught everything offered in high school from Algebra I to AP Calculus BC. I have developed and implemented curriculums for Algebra II, Precalculus, and AP Calculus AB&BC. I also work with students in College Algebra and College Calculus.

Every person is different and I like to tailor my approach depending on how they understand the concepts. My overall method for how I do this is typically the same for each student though: In order to get a base level of where the student is at I simply have them try to walk me through a typical problem they are working on. This shows me how they interpret the concepts and also highlights their misunderstandings. Lots of times, however, students won't know where to even begin. To this I ask them to show me what an answer would look like, e.g. a coordinate point, an interval, a particular value, etc. If a student can't answer this, we start at the last thing they do, in fact, remember how to do and then I essentially crash-course them to where they should be and roll through the concept with ease.
