About Ivy
I am a Violin tutor with more than 10 years of teaching experience and have successfully taught over 820 students. My passion is helping learners become confident musicians while developing technical excellence, artistic expression, and a lifelong appreciation for music.
Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with beginners, intermediate learners, advanced performers, orchestra musicians, examination candidates, and competition participants. This experience allows me to adapt lessons effectively to diverse learning styles and musical ambitions.
I believe music education should inspire creativity while building discipline, perseverance, confidence, and personal growth. Through supportive mentoring and structured instruction, I help students overcome challenges and achieve meaningful progress.
Many learners have successfully prepared for examinations, performances, competitions, orchestral opportunities, and advanced musical studies through my guidance. Their achievements continue to motivate my dedication to music education.
My goal is to help every student become a skilled and expressive violinist while enjoying a rewarding musical journey and developing skills that last a lifetime.

My Violin lessons focus on helping students develop technical mastery, artistic expression, musical understanding, and performance confidence through a structured and progressive teaching approach. I teach posture, bow control, finger placement, intonation, rhythm development, tone production, sight reading, ear training, music theory, and performance preparation.
Students begin by mastering proper posture, bowing technique, listening skills, rhythmic accuracy, and intonation control. These essential foundations create the framework required for advanced musical development and successful performance.
As students progress, lessons expand into vibrato, shifting, advanced bowing techniques, expressive phrasing, interpretation, recital preparation, ensemble performance, and advanced repertoire studies. Technical exercises and repertoire work are balanced carefully to support complete musical growth.
I encourage students to view music as a powerful form of artistic communication. Lessons focus on helping learners express emotion, creativity, and individuality while maintaining strong technical standards and musical discipline.
Structured practice plans, performance coaching, detailed feedback, and continuous assessments help students improve consistently while building confidence and artistic maturity.
