About the lesson

When I was born, my father said to my mother: “You got your little ballerina!” As I was the first daughter of my humble working class family, I took on this identity and soared to new heights as a child. 🧍‍️

In my youth, I could often be found on softball fields, swimming pools, hiking trails, on horses, volleyball courts, in gymnastics classes, and so on. But something was always different to me about dance. At 10 years old, I begged my mother to let me skip all of my other extracurricular commitments to attend ballet even on the weekends.

By the time I was 12, I was committed to 4 hours of ballet every weeknight, and another 8 hours on weekends for rehearsals. I modeled for my studio’s Nutcracker poster, danced with American Ballet Theatre Demi- soloists Stella Abrera and Sasha Radetsky, and then went on to study Dance as a Major in college at Colorado State University.

The basis of my training included Vaganova/ Russian- style Ballet, however I am also well versed in the American Balanchine method. I have taken other classes in Hip hop, tap, Jazz Funk, Lyrical, Modern, ️ African, 🛖 Japanese Butoh Theatre- Dance, Hawaiian, Salsa, Blues and Swing, and Italian Tarentella.

I am thrilled to offer my services both online and in person for young children or adults. I am based out of Charleston, SC but can travel as far as Wilmington, Charlotte, Orlando, etc. limited to weekends.
