About Ryan

I am a 21-year-old musician and singer with a lifelong passion for music and creativity. I have been actively involved in music since childhood and have over a decade of practical experience. I began learning piano at the age of six, which laid a strong musical foundation and eventually led me to pursue vocals after realizing I had a passion for singing. Over the years, singing became my primary focus and creative outlet. I've had significant experience both in live performance and as a recording artist. My goal as a teacher is to help students build confidence in their voice, develop strong technique, and feel comfortable expressing themselves through music in a way that feels authentic and enjoyable. Above all else, I just want to help people enjoy singing and find their own voice. Anybody is welcome, whether they're interested in live performance, being a recording artist, or simply just showing off at karaoke!!

About the lesson

Each student’s first session is completely free and is just for us to get to know each other and also evaluate your starting level. During this lesson, we also discuss your personal goals, preferred genres, singing styles, and any specific songs you are interested in working on. This allows me to tailor future lessons to suit your individual needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
Each lesson runs for one hour and is structured to balance improving vocal technique with practicing songs that fit your capabilities and preferred style. The first half of the lesson focuses on vocal technique, including pitch accuracy, tone quality, vocal agility, breath control, and range development. Musical theory concepts such as dynamics, tempo, and phrasing will also be taught if needed. The second half of the lesson is dedicated to applying these techniques to a song of your choice, with the same song often being revisited and refined over multiple sessions to track progress and build confidence.
I have received nine years of professional vocal training, with a specialization in pop and R&B styles. One of my strengths as a teacher is training vocal agility, including riffs, runs, and stylistic embellishments, as well as having developed an extensive vocal range of multiple octaves. In addition to solo vocal work, I have several years of experience singing in a choir and performing on stage as a lead in musical theatre productions. This allows me to also provide guidance on stage presence, performance confidence, and audience engagement for students who are interested in live performance. I've also recorded and written songs with artists before and I'm able to assist with recording and mixing, with my latest song receiving 20,000 streams on Spotify, for those interested in becoming song-writers or recording tracks/covers.
My schedule is flexible, and I am happy to work around your availability as long as it does not conflict with my existing commitments. Lessons are ideally held at my residence, where I have access to a piano and other musical tools that support effective teaching. Online lessons are also available for students who live further away. Travel to a student’s residence can be discussed depending on distance, with a small additional fee to cover travel time.
My lessons are suitable for students aged 14 and above and are open to all skill levels, from complete beginners to those with prior experience. I am happy to work with any genre, goal, or level of ability.
