About Sara

I’m a very passionate and outgoing person, born, raised and graduated from highschool in Italy. I speak fluent Italian and English, and intermediate Spanish.
Unfortunately, due to studying and working reasons, lessons can just be held in the morning between 10 AM to 2PM during weekdays and during weekends from 8AM to 6PM.

About the lesson

My teaching method is the same as my studying method: I don’t want to use mnemonic study, but instead I prefer understanding and working on concepts and figures.
I’m always open to new ways of teaching, by the way for now I’m offering two different kinds of lessons (adults and kids) adapting to the different ways of absorbing new information.

-Students.
This course is ideal for students who are undertaking an Italian Degree, who want to practice Written and Oral Expression and Comprehension. Group lessons are available and a great deal if you want to practice with your classmates and have a low fare.

-Beginners- Adults.
•Grammar:
Italian is a difficult language which requires effort and persistence. Italian grammar is complex and richer than the English one. Learning a language means learning the structure of the sentence in first place, so the grammar will be a crucial topic for absolute beginners.

•Vocabulary:
As well as grammar, at the end of every lesson, you will be provided a list of Italian words with their own translation which you can use for self-practice.

•Homework:
(Note that homework is not mandatorily, but highly suggested)
You will be given material for self-study as well as exercises to practice between one lesson and another.
Homework generally consists in exercises whose aim is to apply what learned during the lesson. It could consist of “fill in the gaps” exercises, writing sentences with the words given and translation.

•Review:
To save you some time and money, before the following lesson you will need to send your exercises to me to be revised. I will correct your mistakes and clear any of your doubts during the following lesson.

-Kids.
The approach of a different language and the achievement of a good result depends above all on effort, but age is also crucial.
Meanwhile in adults learning a new language could be a slower process, in kids is not the same: with the right stimuli, children can learn a language in brief periods of time.
~How is it?
Kids in developmental age are like “sponges”: they absorb everything. They are curious and tend to get easily bored, they are hungry for learning something but not in the “boring way”; they need images, games and challenges. I’m currently working with kids and I’m really amazed by that.
Kids will be studying the same things adults do but in a less structured and more intuitive way.

Details

Each student is going to have a first free lesson of 45 min whose aim is to get to know and establishing a schedule to follow.

The tariff is displayed for just one person and one frontal lesson.
It’s covering the travel cost (in between London) and the material you will be given (which unfortunately is not free)

-Discounts:

•For one person the lesson will be charged £18/h, the 5th hour (which can be also held a different day) will be discounted, thus five hours will be £81 instead of £90. This discount applies every 5 hours of tutoring.
•If you bring a friend who I can be a potential tutor for, the following lesson you will be charged £13/h.

For groups (max 4 people):
•Groups of:
-2: will be charged £14/h per person;
-3: will be charged £12/h per person;
-4: will be charged £10/h per person.
