About Sameer

From a very young age, I found myself quite fascinated with both art and music, and was blessed with guardians who encouraged me to see beauty in life. I have always had this inner voice that told me- “there has to be more than this… right?”. I used to doodle at a young age and had my first art and guitar classes when I was roughly 8 years old. My art teacher, Mr. Damodar, helped me to find my flow and introduced me to the world of colours. In hindsight, it feels like he helped me to peep into an episode of my life as an artist.
My art took the back seat as life took over and I pursued my masters in Biotechnology and Business Management from University of Warwick, UK. During my thesis, based on “The Use of Psychedelic Drugs in the Medical Arena & Commercialization”, I had found inspiration in my psychedelic research, sacred geometry, and of course, music.
I started sketching once again 2013 and was pleasantly surprised to see how my first psychedelic sketch grew. Needless to say, this sketch propelled me into a colourful world of artistic experiments which introduced me to concepts like mandalas, fractals and zentagles. I learnt that in the art world, there IS no right and wrong. This underlying liberating principle encouraged me to research further into my style and rekindled my passion for art. I have been sketching for a little over 5 years now, experimenting, learning my flow, cherishing the journey and embracing the now. As I grow with the flow, I now find art to be almost meditative. Inspired by the unfathomable magnificence of nature, universe and the cosmos, and the intricate design behind it, by great philosophers, physicians and artists like Terrence McKenna, Nikolas Tesla and Alex Grey, guided by meditation and psychedelic, transcending organic vibrations from artists like Shpongle, Ajja, and of course, with the support and love from my family, I am on a journey to gain a clearer understanding of what we perceive as life/ reality and my purpose on this realm.

As an experimental artist, I started off my work with Fineliners and pencil, and slowly moved on to colours. I've experimented with Spray paints too, and plan to explore more in the future.
Most comfortable using pencils and pens, and most of my work has been done on paper.
Recently started experimenting and exploring the concept of mandalas and UV reactive paints.
Off lately, I've been exploring abstract concepts including biomechanical art, with the intention to explore further and nurture my style/ natural flow.
