About Emily
I am a Psychology graduate who enjoys supporting primary school students to feel more confident and capable in their learning. During my university placement, I gained experience tutoring children and discovered how much I enjoy helping students move toward that "lightbulb" moment, in a supportive and encouraging way.
I believe children learn best when they feel safe, understood, and not rushed, so I take a calm and patient approach to every session. I adapt my teaching to each child’s needs and focus on building understanding and confidence over time.
My aim is always to help students not just improve at school, but to feel more comfortable and positive about learning itself.

My approach to tutoring is calm, supportive, and tailored to each child. I focus on creating a safe, encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as I believe this is where real learning happens.
With a background in psychology, I understand that children learn in different ways and at different paces. I adapt my teaching style to the individual, breaking down concepts into simple, manageable steps and building understanding gradually, always ensuring the student feels comfortable and supported and can apply their learning.
A big part of my teaching style is building confidence. I love seeing those "lightbulb" moments when something clicks for a student, and I make sure to reinforce those wins so they learn to also trust their own ability, and become more independent learners.
Each lesson typically runs for 60 minutes. This allows enough time to review previous learning, go through new concepts, and practise together in a structured but relaxed way.
My lessons are best suited for primary school students who may need extra support, want to strengthen their understanding, or would benefit from a more personalised and supported approach to learning.
