About Elizabeth
Since 2017, I have taught reading and writing in Fairfax County and Arlington Public Schools. Prior to that, I taught in Japan, Massachusetts, and New York City, bringing a broad range of educational experience to my work with students.
My academic background reflects a strong commitment to education and scholarship. I earned a degree in Education from Harvard University, where I also wrote reports for the administration. I graduated magna cum laude from Wheaton College with a degree in English.
My commitment to students is deeply personal and rooted in early family influence. My grandfather, a New York City public school principal and director of a boys’ camp in Maine, first taught me reading in elementary school and inspired my lifelong dedication to education. I have also supported students’ literacy development with the help of my pet therapy dogs, who served at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

My approach is disciplined, supportive, and targeted lesson plans that reach individual's expectations. I use a variety of materials based on the student's interest and aptitude.
My experience in tutoring and classroom teaching, along with my work with international as well as American students, enriches the sessions.
Finally, I use templates for organized writing that have proved beneficial in the past.
