About William
My name is William. I hold QTS and a PGCE, plus a Master's degree in Law. I have taught in UK state schools and now teach at a top international school. I have experience in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, so I understand how scientific understanding develops from simple observation in Year 1 through to planning fair tests and drawing conclusions in Year 6. I also speak advanced Mandarin and basic Spanish. I became a teacher because I love seeing children's eyes light up when they discover how the world works – why shadows change, how a circuit works, or why planets orbit the sun. I am patient, calm, and skilled at breaking down tricky concepts using real-world examples and simple experiments with household items. Seeing a child's curiosity grow is what drives me.

Topics I cover include:
Plants (life cycles, what they need to grow)
Animals including humans (bodies, diets, habitats, life cycles)
Everyday materials (properties and uses)
Seasonal changes (weather, day length)
Forces and magnets (pushes, pulls, magnetic attraction)
Light (shadows, reflections, dark is the absence of light)
Sound (vibrations, pitch, volume)
Electricity (circuits, conductors, insulators)
Earth and space (planets, day and night, seasons)
Rocks (fossils, soil, types of rock)
Working scientifically (fair tests, predictions, conclusions)
I use real-world examples and simple experiments with household items. I also speak advanced Mandarin and basic Spanish. Parents can tell me exactly what their child is struggling with, and I will help them get to mastery.
