About Andries

Hello and welcome!
My name is a dedicated and experienced educator with a Higher Diploma in Education and over 40 years of teaching experience. I am passionate about helping learners build confidence, improve understanding, and achieve academic success.
I specialize in Technology (Grades 8–9), Technical Drawings, and Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) (Grades 10–12). With many years of classroom and teaching experience, I understand that every learner is unique. For this reason, I tailor my lessons to suit each student’s individual pace, learning style, and academic needs.
My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and results-driven. I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into simple, understandable steps while encouraging learners to ask questions and actively participate. Lessons are structured, practical, and designed to strengthen understanding, improve problem-solving skills, and prepare students for tests and examinations.
Students can expect professional guidance, clear explanations, revision support, and assistance with assignments, technical drawings, and examination preparation. My goal is not only to improve marks but also to help learners gain confidence and enjoy the learning process.
I am able to teach in both English and Afrikaans, ensuring learners feel comfortable and supported in the language they understand best.
Whether you need extra support, help preparing for exams, or simply want to strengthen your understanding of the subject, I am committed to helping you reach your full potential.
I look forward to helping you succeed!

I am a qualified educator with a Higher Diploma in Education and over 40 years of teaching experience. I offer patient, supportive, and learner-focused tutoring aimed at helping students understand concepts clearly and improve their confidence and academic performance.
My teaching methodology focuses on explaining difficult concepts in a simple and practical manner. I believe every learner has different strengths and learning styles, therefore I adapt my lessons to meet each student’s individual needs and pace. I use step-by-step explanations, practical examples, revision exercises, past examination papers, and continuous guidance to ensure learners fully understand the work.
What makes me unique as a teacher is my many years of teaching experience, patience, and ability to explain technical and practical subjects clearly. I strive to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in their abilities.
I am proficient in English and Afrikaans and can teach in both languages according to the learner’s preference.
A typical lesson includes revision of previous work, explanation of new concepts, guided examples, practical exercises, and examination preparation. Students can expect structured lessons, individual attention, and assistance in areas where they may struggle.
My lessons are aimed at Grade 8–12 learners, particularly students studying Technology (Grades 8–9), Technical Drawings, and Engineering Graphics and Design (EGD) (Grades 10–12). I assist learners who need extra support, examination preparation, or help improving their understanding and marks in these subjects.
