About Elizabeth
I am a qualified teacher having gained my PGCE from Oxford University. I have a degree from Cambridge University in Mathematics with Education, and a Masters from Oxford University in Learning and Teaching.
I was a Mathematics teacher for over ten years in various types of schools – state, private & sixth form colleges. I have been Head of Year, Deputy Head of Sixth Form, Head of Pre A level (international students who come for a year pre A-level) and Head of Sixth Form. Working in a variety of schools has allowed me to gain a wealth of resources & see lots of different teaching styles and activities.
I have tutored pupils one to one of different ages from year 5 to A Level (ages 10-18).
My lessons are based on building the student's confidence and understanding. I use a variety of different teaching aids to keep students engaged. I understand all students learn differently and tailor my teaching to suit each student's needs.
I use a starter to either recap the previous lesson or to gain an understanding of where the student's misconceptions/struggles are within a topic.
I am an organised & personable teacher who enjoys building up good working relationships with my students. I deeply believe that if they enjoy their lesson, then they will learn more.
