About JESSICA

Hi there! Ciao! My name is Jess. I am a charismatic and passionate Italian teacher, who loves teaching and loves languages. I was born in Verona, Italy, and I now live in North Brisbane, Australia. Since I was a child, I was always fascinated by meeting people from other cultures in the most authentic ways, which is why for me it was always crucial to learn a bit of the language of the countries I visited. That's the reason why I graduated from university with a degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures. I studied 5 languages: English, Spanish, German, Arabic, and I am now learning Persian. I then decided to step out of my comfort zone to travel solo for extensive periods of time. I lived in the USA, Jordan, Spain, and visited 30+ other countries. These experiences led me to gain a quite good understanding of the challenges involved in learning a foreign language and getting accustomed to a new culture. In 2018, I decided to move to Australia where I discovered my passion for teaching Italian and I studied to become a certified teacher of Italian to foreigners. I have been working as an Italian teacher for a local language school in Brisbane and helped students of all levels to reach their language goals. I also worked in collaboration with the Italian Consulate in Brisbane to help applicants with their Italian Citizenship applications and coached private students to successfully pass their citizenship language exam. It was through my teaching experience that I began to realize what the most common struggles my students face with Italian are and started to think about a way to give my contribution. I love LANGUAGES because they allow me to connect to OTHER cultures..... I love TEACHING because it allows me to connect my students to MY culture." About the lesson

Depending on the goal you want to achieve, I personally design an individual course for you. Each tailor-made course has a goal in mind and typically includes all aspects of the language (conversation, grammar, writing, reading, and vocabulary, with hints of cultural aspects too), unless you choose to focus on specific aspects only. I provide you with all the materials and support you need. You also have the option to get a textbook for yourself, if you desire (and I can help you with recommendations and tips depending on your level). I work with all levels, from complete beginners to very advanced students.
