About John

I have a degree and PhD in Physics as well as a PGCE in secondary and sixth form education. I have an in-depth and current knowledge of the A Level curriculum in Physics, Maths and Electronics and have 20 years teaching experience in colleges. As well as teaching experience I have a wider experience of working in scientific research institutions, including CERN, Switzerland.

About the lesson

I have taught A Level Physics for 20 years in sixth form colleges and I have enjoyed excellent results. I attribute that to dynamic lessons with clear and concise explanations of concepts and lots of practice of different styles of past paper questions. I am dedicated to providing students with specifically tailored tutorials focusing on areas for improvement. Initially I will build up a student’s background knowledge of a topic and then improve their understanding and application of theory in answering past paper questions. This is achieved by action planning and monitoring students’ progress against the action plan.

Perfect! John is a thorough, patient and clear teacher. He helped my daughter with A level physics and brought the subject alive for her. Before john, she had been struggling with Physics at this level and had been completely confused by the topic. John was very supportive with her and she came from his lessons feeling excited and able to tackle the topics that he covered. A supportive and clear teacher. I would highly recommend his services.
