About Katie

I chose to go into teaching because I truly enjoy helping children grow in confidence and discover their abilities. During my degree in Primary Education and Childhood Studies, I developed a strong understanding of how children learn best, and I saw first-hand how the right support can make a real difference.

I want to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where every child feels valued, understood, and capable of succeeding. I believe that learning should feel enjoyable, not stressful, and I aim to support children in a way that builds both their skills and their self-belief.

For me, tutoring is not just about improving grades—it’s about helping children feel proud of themselves, overcome challenges, and develop a love for learning that stays with them as they grow

About the lesson

I am a fully qualified Primary Education and Childhood Studies graduate offering supportive, engaging, and personalised tutoring for young learners. I am passionate about helping children build confidence, develop strong core skills, and enjoy learning in a calm and encouraging environment.

My teaching style is child-centred, meaning I adapt each lesson to suit your child’s individual needs, abilities, and learning pace. I focus on creating a positive relationship with each student so they feel comfortable, motivated, and ready to learn.

I use a mix of structured learning and creative approaches to keep lessons both effective and enjoyable. This includes:

* Interactive activities and games to keep children engaged
* Clear explanations broken down into simple, manageable steps
* Positive reinforcement to build confidence and motivation
* Regular feedback so parents can track progress

Lessons Include

* Literacy support (reading, writing, phonics, comprehension)
* Numeracy skills (basic maths, problem solving, number confidence)
* Homework help and exam preparation (where appropriate)
* Building focus, independence, and a love for learning

Each lesson is carefully planned but flexible, allowing me to adjust based on how you're feeling and progressing on the day. My goal is not only to improve academic performance but also to help children feel proud of their achievements and develop a lifelong love of learning.
