About Amie
I am a teacher passionate about helping students build confidence and understanding. I know that the classroom setting does not cater to everyone and I know that one-on-one learning is extremely beneficial. I have work experience in both tutoring and teaching in a school. I had tutoring when I was younger to strengthen my abilities and hope to build relationships and create growth just like my tutors did with me. I currently teach in schools therefore, I am aware of expectations and can make lessons relevant. I currently homeschool two of my siblings so I cater to individual goals and remote learning. My pedagogy varies depending on each student, though I consistently scaffold the learning to start with a lot of support and then gradually build independant confidence and abilities so that the student builds their relationship and understanding of the subject and their learning. Typical length of a lesson is 30 minutes to an hour. I am available to students in years K-6.
