About Debbie
I have taught in UK primary schools for over 20 years and have enjoyed teaching maths to all year groups from Y1 to Y6. I have also been responsible for developing high quality teaching of maths, having extensive knowledge of the subject and enthusiasm for finding innovative ways of overcoming any barriers to learning. The greatest reward is seeing children become confident in maths and even realising that it's fun!

From my experience as a teacher working in a primary school, I have found that learning is most effective when it is broken down into manageable next steps to build upon prior learning so pupils can always see they have made progress. I am skilled in ensuring that learning activities are tailored to the learning style and needs of the child and may include maths games, practical modelling, bar modelling, visual representations, making links between methods and facts, developing reasoning and I offer tuition for KS1 and KS2 pupils.
