About Kate

I’m Kate Park, known to my students as Miss Park, a qualified primary school teacher with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and experience teaching Stage 2—Years 3 and 4—in a NSW public school.

Through Oakmont Academy, I focus on English reading and writing for primary-aged children. I enjoy helping children move beyond reading the words to understanding the ideas, explaining their thinking and shaping a clear written response.

My approach is calm, personal and practical. With one or two students in a lesson, I can listen closely, notice where support is needed and adapt the next step. I share specific observations and work samples with parents so they can understand their child’s progress. I can also communicate with Korean-speaking parents in Korean.

I help Year 3 and Year 4 children understand what they read and express their ideas clearly in writing. Lessons connect reading comprehension, vocabulary, inference and paragraph writing through clear modeling, guided practice and useful feedback.

For families inquiring through Superprof, I offer a free 30-minute introductory teaching session. This gives your child a chance to try the teaching approach and helps us identify a useful starting point. A separate complimentary 20-minute parent call is available to discuss goals, lesson fit and arrangements.

Ongoing individual tuition is $90 per hour. Carefully matched paired tuition is $65 per child per hour, subject to a suitable learning match and place being available. Materials and short take-home practice are included.

For an ongoing program, parents receive a one-page plan with two personal learning priorities by the end of lesson two, a brief mid-program update, and an earlier-and-later work comparison at the end. For very short bookings, we agree appropriate combined updates before enrollment.

Lessons are in person in Kellyville NSW 2155. Families from all areas are welcome. We agree the start date, venue details and available lesson time with the parent before enrollment.
