About Lily

Hi, I'm Lily! I am a qualified Secondary Art & Design teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a passion for inspiring creativity in young people. I have experience teaching students across KS3, GCSE and A-level supporting them in developing their practical skills, creative thinking and confidence while helping them achieve their goals.

Art has always been a huge part of my life, and I love sharing that enthusiasm with others. I enjoy working across a wide range of media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography and mixed media, and I believe everyone can be creative with the right encouragement and guidance.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy creating my own artwork, climbing, camping, hiking, wild swimming, travelling and walking my golden retriever. I often draw inspiration from nature and my travels, which I love bringing into my lessons to make learning engaging, relevant and enjoyable.

My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions and developing both their artistic ability and confidence. Whether you're preparing for GCSE Art, building a portfolio or simply want to enjoy being creative, I'd love to help you on your artistic journey.

About the lesson

I am a qualified Secondary Art & Design teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), passionate about helping students develop confidence, creativity and a genuine enjoyment of Art. My lessons are tailored to each individual, whether they are looking to improve their grades, build technical skills, prepare for GCSE coursework, develop a portfolio, or simply enjoy being creative.

I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching to suit their needs and pace. Lessons combine practical demonstrations, step-by-step guidance and constructive feedback, encouraging students to experiment while building strong artistic foundations. I can support students with observational drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking, photography, composition, artist research, annotation, sketchbook development and exam preparation.

Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, although longer sessions can be arranged for GCSE coursework or portfolio development. My teaching style is friendly, patient and encouraging, creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and trying new techniques. My aim is not only to help students achieve their academic goals but also to inspire a lifelong appreciation of creativity and the visual arts.

I teach students from KS3, GCSE and A-level and am happy to support beginners as well as those aiming for top grades or preparing for further study in Art & Design.
