About Ben

I became a teacher to inspire the next generation of linguists and share my love of languages in a way that is engaging, practical, and enjoyable. With over 5 years of teaching experience in UK secondary schools, I have worked with learners of all abilities, from beginners up to GCSE level, helping them build confidence and achieve their goals. In my lessons, I focus on creating a positive and supportive environment. I combine clear explanations with interactive activities, practical exercises, and plenty of opportunities to practise speaking, listening, reading, and writing. My approach is tailored to each student, ensuring that lessons are effective, enjoyable, and suited to individual learning styles. Outside of teaching, I am passionate about sport, which keeps me active and energised—qualities I bring into my lessons to make them lively and motivating. I am committed to professionalism and reliability, and my goal is always to help students feel confident, supported, and excited about learning languages.

About the lesson

My approach to language tutoring is focused on making learning both clear and enjoyable. I believe that everyone learns languages differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s needs, combining structured grammar explanations with practical speaking, listening, reading, and writing exercises. I emphasise real-world examples, interactive practice, and regular feedback to help students gain confidence and become independent language learners. A typical lesson with me lasts around 60 minutes, but I can adjust the length to suit the student’s goals and attention span. Each session usually includes a review of previous material, focused language practice, and opportunities for conversation or exercises to reinforce new skills. I hold a degree in International Business Management and French from Northumbria University and have over 5 years of teaching experience in UK secondary schools, specialising in language education. This experience has allowed me to develop effective strategies for supporting students at different levels and with varying learning styles. My lessons are suitable for beginners up to GCSE level, and I aim to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel confident practising new language skills, asking questions, and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
