About Catherine

Hello! My name is Catherine, and I am a native English speaker who speaks both French and Spanish. I am also a qualified secondary school teacher of both those languages! In 2018, I graduated from Exeter University with a 2:1 BA French and Spanish degree, having enjoyed 4 years of study which included a year working as an English Language Teacher at a school in Madrid. I then spent two years working as a Teaching Assistant at a primary school in London where I loved having the opportunity to work alongside young children. I am now a qualified French and Spanish teacher, having completed my Secondary PGCE in Modern Languages with St Mary's University in Twickenham, London. I have been teaching at an Ofsted outstanding secondary school in London since September 2021. I teach up to GCSE in both languages, and have been tutoring online since March 2021. I am a positive, supportive, patient and energetic teacher who completely understands the trials of learning a Modern Foreign Language from scratch. Please do get in touch - I would love to help!

About the lesson

Each lesson is tailored to meet your requirements. I use an online whiteboard which allows us to both see and edit the same material, which is excellent for practising the four key skills at GCSE level: listening, reading, writing and speaking. If I can help, please be in touch!

Perfect! Catherine tutored our son for 16 months for his Spanish GCSE exam that he was doing off timetable. Catherine covered the curriculum really well and tailored each session to our son's requirements. She was kind, patient and encouraging. Her communication was excellent and she was always on time. Our son thoroughly enjoyed his weekly online sessions with her. We would highly recommend Catherine as a tutor! Our achieved a grade 9 in his exam (2023).
