About Tanya

Passionate and knowledgeable professional in teaching and tutoring English whilst living in Spain for 5 years and now back to UK, I teach Spanish with high quality experience in classroom environments and online platforms. Inspirational, thought expanding lessons for pupils achieving their highest aspirations in line with their inner calling is my goal. One to one, small groups and diverse classroom settings are where I have enriched levels of experience with the application of face to face and remote learning strategies. Determined and enthusiastic, I help pupils achieve Spanish language proficiency whilst inspiring a committed work ethic and passion for Spanish culture. My application is a hardworking and enlightening Spanish tutor dedicated to pupils' succeeding visions, on a part time, weekday timetable helpfully fitting around the childcare and upbringing of my child. I graduated with a 1st Honours in Hispanic Studies at Sheffield University in 2007, I then completed an MA in Translation Studies in 2011 and ultimately completed my PGDE in Education in 2019. I taught Spanish classes twice/week to pupils in KS3 (Y7/8/9) and I taught Spanish several times/week to pupils taking GCSE Spanish (Y10/11). In order to enhance pupils' linguistic comprehension and facilitate pupils' speaking in line with GCSE assessments, I taught small groups of Y10 and Y11 students on a once a week basis. The small group classes were enjoyably effective for pupils getting effective levels of support as a requisite for their KS4 Spanish assessments in areas of reading, listening, writing and speaking. I guaranteed these classes provided high levels of curricula compatibility for pupils achieving excellent results when taking GCSE Spanish. Elements inclusive for teaching: Delivery of online training to adult learners through workshops and seminars. Promoting pupils in perseverance and determination as key components for pupils' success. Use of illustrative activities to help pupils explore concepts. Update of course materials, content and delivery. Support for pupils on developing their abilities. Selection of curricula based on students' interests, aptitude and abilities. Signposts of opportunities for further learning and development for pupils. Teaching students helpful data to prepare for examinations and assessments. Provision of in-depth feedback for students' work. Homework assignments to help pupils' show their subject knowledge. Employment of a variety of mediums to help pupils learn in-depth concepts. Design of lessons tailoring to pupils' individual needs. Evaluation for students using standardised criteria to determine abilities. Expert teaching to plan lessons. Personalising instruction and personal mentoring according to pupils' strengths and abilities. Development of in-depth lessons on subject specific theories, foundational concepts and advanced topics. A variety of effective teaching methods employed. Improvement in pupils' Spanish assessment results in KS3, GCSE and A Level Spanish. Preparing for official exams helping pupils achieving high success rate. I finally completed my PGDE teaching qualification at St Mary's RC High School, Chesterfield. This was an excellent and highly satisfying completion of the PGDE course as St Mary's RC High School was my school and it was an honour to have my A Level Spanish teacher facilitate the completion of my teaching course. Although I taught mainly A Level Spanish at St Mary's, I helped improve pupils' Spanish speaking abilities in KS3 and KS4 in one to one repertoires. Feedback indicated an increase in pupils' confidence whilst speaking Spanish, which was much deserved seeing pupils achieve excellent examination results in KS3, GCSE and A Level Spanish that year. In order to enhance pupils' linguistic comprehension and facilitate pupils' speaking, reading, writing and listening in line with A Level assessments, I taught A Level students several times a week. These classes were enjoyably effective for pupils getting effective levels of support for their A Level Spanish examinations. I guarantee my lessons provide high levels of curricula compatibility for pupils to achieve excellent results when taking A Level Spanish. *Rates negotiable according to requirements*
