About Deirdre

Hi there! My name is Deirdre. I am a qualified accountant, with a Master's degree in Law and I'm also a qualified primary school teacher. I speak fluent Gaeilge and French, have experience with Junior Cycle math and I offer a supportive, friendly approach to learning, aimed at helping you do your best in upcoming exams.

As well as being a primary school teacher, I have lectured and tutored at third level and provided support to secondary school students also. I have worked with students for whom English is a second or additional language, and am fully prepared to work with students as they get ready for written, aural and oral exams.

In my teaching career, I have worked extensively with children who require additional support to achieve their potential. This might include help with literacy and numeracy skills, for example. I can also offer support to children for whom the busy social environment of a school can prove challenging.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I am an additional support to help you improve your understanding of the subject, whether it is English, Gaeilge, French or maths. I will meet you at the level you are currently at and find out how you learn best. With that information I can work with you to make sure you have a better understanding of the subject so that you can achieve your potential with it. This is different for everyone which is why I will tailor my approach to best suit how you learn.

For children who may need additional support with school-based social situations, literacy or numeracy, I offer an opportunity to work on a regular, one-to-one basis to help develop those essential building blocks that help us all thrive.

For children about to undertake the transition from primary to secondary school, I can provide support that ensures your child is best prepared for this change academically and socially.
