About Pan Comido

My name is Bea and I am the founder of Pan Comido. I was born and raised in A Coruña, a beautiful coastal city in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. When I was little, I used to imagine what being a teacher would be like, and I was sure I would become one when I grew up. I started to work as a private language tutor (Spanish, English and French) while I was studying English Philology at the University of A Coruña. A few years later I decided to take a step forward and become a Spanish teacher, so I did a master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign language at the International University of La Rioja. I developed my career in teaching in London, UK, where I worked for different schools, colleges, and universities. In 2018 I decided to start up my own Spanish school, which would later become Pan Comido. In 2024, I moved to Los Angeles, California, where I continue delivering Spanish classes and collaborate with Instituto Cervantes Los Angeles. When I’m not teaching or geeking out about grammar or linguistics, I like hiking and travelling to new places. My beliefs: being able to communicate with someone in their own language is a gift! Learning a new language opens up your world, you discover other cultures and perspectives, and it makes you feel connected to the rest of world. But it also has many other benefits! It boosts your confidence, keeps your brain active, improves your memory, enhances your creativity, and increases your concentration. It’s also a competitive advantage whatever your career aspiration is!

About the lesson

I believe the most important thing when speaking a foreign language is being able to communicate, to understand and be understood. For this reason, I use a communicative approach in my lessons. Students are involved in real communication and interaction, with an enhanced focus on real-life situations. My lessons are filled with a wide variety of informative, interesting and fun activities that will allow you to feel fully immersed in the Hispanic world. You’ll work on all language skills (speaking, listening, writing, reading, and vocabulary), but you’ll also learn the most interesting and fascinating aspects of the Hispanic cultures. My courses and classes are designed for adult learners who have an interest in the Spanish language and culture, and who wish to learn Spanish in order to communicate in Spanish speaking countries, develop their career or prepare for an official examination (DELE).
