About Ina

I have been tutoring English and Afrikaans in a freelance capacity since 2019. Skilled at communicating complex information in a simple and entertaining manner has proved successful in teaching English and Afrikaans languages online via Zoom to all school learners following IEB, Cambridge as well as Higher Education curricula. My preferred method of teaching is online, I have the necessary equipment and power backup systems to provide a stable tutoring environment. On request, I am available for in-person tutoring.

About the lesson

I am a qualified schoolteacher with a Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in English, Education and History from the University of Johannesburg. With my years of teaching experience and knowledge of especially the English language I can help learners achieve their own personal goals.
One of my key strengths is dealing with students who suffer from examination anxiety.
I assist learners to understand the deeper meaning and symbolism of literature and poetry; I help with conversational skills, proper pronunciation, grammar, improve vocabulary and punctuation.
I simplify lesson plans in line with set objectives ranging from learners working to achieve distinctions to ensuring learners achieve required pass rates.
I supply comprehensive feedback to parents and when requested to teachers. I always address potential problem areas timeously.
References available on request.
I am passionate about teaching and very capable of assisting learners to improve their language skills in a relaxed, fun and rewarding environment.

Ina is a very hardworking and dedicated person to her students. During the June exams we would have lessons up to 3 hours at a time and when it's school holidays she would still carry on working, helping me with my projects and putting in the hours overtime to get good notes and do thorough research on the work I'm struggling with. Ina is a very kind and helpful person, when you are having a lesson with her, she will always make sure that you are fully comfortable with each section, if you struggle a bit she will take down that section and get more notes and activities to help you on it. She manages to make the work fun and will find different ways to teach you the work if you are struggling until she finds a method that works for you. Overall she is very helpful and I can see the improvements in my marks, she is also very versatile in her teaching methods and very flexible with her times.
