About Amanda
I am a certified K-12 Reading Specialist with a Masters degree in Education and Bachelors' degrees in both Elementary Education and Psychology. I created an Intervention program district-wide and have taught Reading, Writing, ESL and Math to struggling learners in grades K-12 in both group and private sessions for 15 years.

My approach to learning is multi-sensory, hands-on, visual, and repetitive. I'm patient and seek to understand the whole child in order to advance their learning. I like to ask thought provoking questions to continually strive for the session to be student-centered. Through repetition and questioning, I will make sure that the student understands the basics before moving onto more conceptual and higher-order thinking.
