About Martin

As a hospital Radiographer for 12 years, I have been actively involved in helping many degree-level students with their studies. Radiography is a scientific subject requiring in-depth knowledge of radiation Physics, Maths and Biology. I have also taught Historic Fencing at my own club in Manchester for 6 years, which is part of my lifelong love of Medieval History, and I am a competent guitarist. When I lived in Manchester, I spent 4 years at 207 Field Hospital, as an Army Reserve Radiographer and Physical Training Instructor. This was a very interesting time, when I learnt a lot about personal skills and leadership. In the future I hope to relocate to Uganda for charity work with Kasese Humanist Schools!

About the lesson

I have devised my own student-centred approach based mainly on past papers, as this ensures the syllabus is covered accurately, and that students are prepared for exam conditions. When I identify a weak area, we explore it in depth using practice questions from resources such as GCSE Bitesize. I picture myself as a friendly big brother whenever I'm teaching, which seems to be effective according to my feedback.
