About Alyssa
I recently graduated from Creighton University with a degree in Health Administration and Policy and minor in Spanish and Hispanic studies while on the pre-medicine track. I graduated summa cum laude, a compliment to my GPA. During my years as a student at Creighton University, I was a student tutor where I worked both one-on-one with students and also in a group setting. I was an attached tutor for cellular biology for a year where I tutored solely in that course in a group lesson style. The following year I became a general one-on-one tutor where I taught a wide range of subjects, with biology, chemistry, and physics being some of the most popular. I tutored biology from the beginner 100 level courses all the way up to the advanced courses at the 400 level.
Since graduating this past May, I spent my summer as a whitewater raft guide in Tennessee and am hoping to pursue adventure for the next couple of years before I continue on with my own education. In my time away, I'm hoping to use my love of education to assist others with their own educational pursuit. Since summer, I have been tutoring Biology and Spanish online, further building my tutoring experience.

With me as your tutor you can expect a customized lesson plan that fits your needs. Through my experience as a tutor, it's clear that every student learns in their own unique way. As your tutor, my goal is to figure out what way you learn best and to incorporate those techniques into our lesson.
My lesson plans are set up with the loose plan of: review from previous lesson, introduce new material, and end of lesson activity/practice. Each lesson has the flexibility to adapt to what you're needing from our time together for that day/week.
My lessons are for high school and college biology students. I specialize in the courses of general biology, cellular biology, and biochemistry.
