About Delaney
I graduated with my BA in French and Business Administration from Saint Michael's College in Vermont in 2020. I studied abroad in a language-intensive program in Poitiers, France, where I was directly integrated with French students and signed a language pledge to only speak French for 4 months. I have also been a camp counselor in an immersive language program, a translator for a non-profit in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, volunteered with French-speaking students in Senegal, and tutored French since early high school. I currently work as an employment advisor for folks with developmental disabilities, however I hope to someday expand my French studies and earn my PhD. My greatest passion is helping students explore the possibilities learning another language can provide!

Typically, I start out a first tutoring session by asking a student questions and doing assessments together to figure out areas where the student is strong, and areas that could use some work. I develop lesson plans for the following sessions based on what the student needs help with, and how much material we covered in our previous session. I have found an individualized approach works best for many students, giving them the specialized attention a standard classroom sometimes cannot provide. I tutor French 1,2,3,4, and 5, AP French, and college-level courses.
