About Neha

I am a recent BA English Literature graduate from Durham University. I also pursued 3 modules in Psychology. I am currently studying law at University of Leeds. I completed my school education at National Hill View Public School, Bangalore, India. In my final year-12th grade, I scored a good score in all my subjects and was one of the highest scorers in school for Physics. I have regularly participated in writing competitions and even won ‘Highly commendable award’ for my short story submission in an all-India competition presided by Ruskin Bond. Due to my experience in teaching since school level, I have always grabbed every opportunity to get involved in tutoring and helping another person when it comes to academics. Being a student myself, I believe not only can I completely understand another student’s position but also assist them in the best possible way.

About the lesson

I am a recent BA English Literature graduate from Durham University. I also pursued 3 modules in Psychology. I am currently studying law at University of Leeds. I tutored a student for English at GCSE level and am currently tutoring (remote) a year 6 student for Mathematics at Durham as part of a volunteering project at University. I also volunteered as a mentor to a student currently in her A-Levels at Project Access Mentorship. I have been tutoring ever since I was in 10th Grade and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience and love the process of teaching! My tutees and their parents have given me positive feedback on the improvement in the tutees' academic performance, not only do they enjoy the subject now but also approach exams confidently! My first interaction with the student will be an attempt to identify the strengths and weaknesses and also understand what interests them in terms of the subject and the learning style. I will then chart out a plan with the student to identify their goal and provide guidance on how they must work towards it. Along with the teaching sessions, I will make sure there is a sufficient amount of individual work done by the student between every class. Feedback from the student and the parents/guardians will help me alter my teaching style to suit the student as well as make sure the whole learning experience is enjoyable.
