About Sungyeon
I achieved A*A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths at A-level, but my journey wasn’t always straightforward. In the first term of Year 12, my predicted grades for Biology and Chemistry were B and C respectively... so I know what it feels like to struggle with content.
Through trial and error, I found the revision methods that worked best for me and helped me achieve A*s. I hope to use this experience to help you find the learning and revision techniques that work best for you, while tailoring my teaching to your individual needs.

University Mentoring
I have 5 years of tutoring experience, supporting a wide range of secondary school students and helping them build both their understanding and confidence across their subjects.
My lessons typically last one hour and are structured to make sure students are actively engaging with and retaining the material. I usually begin with a 10-minute quiz covering content from the previous lesson, before moving on to a PowerPoint-based lesson focused on a topic of the student's choice.
I then dedicate the final 15 minutes to exam-style questions, adapting the difficulty and focus depending on how well the student has understood the material. This gives us an opportunity to identify any gaps in understanding and work through them together.
That said, I know that every student learns differently, so I'm very happy to tailor my teaching style and lesson structure to suit your individual needs, goals and learning preferences.
