About Jake
I have a 1st Class with Honours for History, specialising in modern history. I also have a great interest in relevant topics around my studies . I Taught English in China for 2 years, so I'm no stranger to teaching/mentoring. Class sizes varied from 60 per class to 1 on 1. Before coming to Australia I worked as a tutor on weekends, between my week job.

I structure my lessons so that they are both informative and engaging. I think it's vital to have history taught chronologically but also holistically. So the structure would be roughly; introduction of historical point/focus, initial thoughts, introduce context, events, dates, actors, prevailing philosophies, thoughts & cultures etc and then ask students to give their opinion or ask a related question (exam style) which would require students to pull together the information from the class - hopefully other classes.
