About Lily
I graduated from UC Davis with a Mathematics BS, and right now, I'm in a teaching credential program at SJSU. I interned at a local high school for three months during my undergrad. The class I interned in was a math study skills class, so I helped a lot of students struggling in various math subjects. In high school, I tutored 2 students in Calculus, and recently, I worked part-time as a workshop instructor for a math reasoning class at SJSU.

First, I ask students if they need help with certain homework problems. Then I ask if there was anything during their math lessons in school that they did not understand. If the student does not know where to start, then I'll try to explain the math concept in my own words and add further explanations using examples that they've seen before. Also, I believe that mistakes are a learning process and am not quick to judge someone on how many or what kind of mistakes they've made. For me, my main concern is to make sure students understand the concepts, not how many problems they got correct.
