About Mark
I actually feel capable of assisting high school students in many different subjects! I'm a retired high school teacher (that means I have patience!), who is looking to bring a purpose to his retirement. Over the past 40 years, I've mostly taught high school Math, especially Algebra and Geometry, but I began my career teaching middle school math and science, followed that with high school French and Biology, and, for the last few years, have taught Computer Science!

Due to my travel plans, I often tutor virtually. However, I give lessons one-on-one, as well. I start by asking what the student needs and is looking to learn. If s/he already has school materials to work on, I try to help with those and add supplemental exercises. Every person learns differently, so I do not use a one-size-fits-all approach to tutoring. I DO try to add fun exercises and make the lesson applicable to the student's life.
