My teaching method is visual, I use real world problems relating to math. I also make sure that when I'm tutoring, my "classroom" becomes a safe place for all students. Many teachers have negative attitudes toward math based on their own school experiences. Children can pick up on that negativity, so I make sure that I avoid comforting and consoling a student when they are struggling and instead I express confidence in their ability to solve the problem and suggest strategies for how they might go about it.

Alyssa helped me pass my Algebra class in high school. I always have been "bad" at math and I thought I would fail out of every math class, but Alyssa was persistent and adapted to my learning style to make sure that I passed. I ended up passing algebra with a B, which is the highest grade I've ever had in math. Alyssa is an amazing tutor and I would recommend her to anyone who is struggling with algebra.
