About Jaro
Hi, I’m Jaro (pronounced yah-ro), and I’ve been tutoring mathematics for over 7 years now. As someone who’s both a teacher and a research mathematician working towards my PhD, I know how to make tricky topics feel simple. My teaching style is flexible, and I can quickly adapt to each student’s needs, thanks to my experience creating unique learning resources and maths competition problems on top of teaching students with different education systems all over the world. I have helped many students get into the most famous universities in the UK like Oxford and Cambridge, and many others. I’m always available to offer support between sessions to make sure my students don't give up on problems when they get stuck. If we work together, you can simply send me a message anytime with your question and I'll either give you a useful example or a different perspective to help you solve it. Too many students weren't taught what to do when maths feels tough and impossible to understand. That's because maths is, essentially, challenging you to change the way you think. It may sound daunting at first, but once you do it, it feels like you've gained a new superpower! That's what I wish to teach all of my students.

In my lessons I focus on creating a supportive and positive environment where students can happily ask questions without fear of judgement. We'll make sure to look into what it is that you're not sure about until it clicks. Whether you're needing to brush up on some maths you missed or don't feel confident about, preparing for IB or A-levels finals or university admission exams like STEP or MAT, I’ll tailor each session to fit what you're looking for. My teaching isn’t about memorising formulas or obscure methods that work but you don't even know how. It's about helping you truly understand maths so you can approach any new problem with confidence. We’ll break things down, use visualisations and resources that are based completely on your background and learning style to give you the perspective you need to understand the concepts you've been struggling with. Whether you’re looking for short-term help or a long-term tutoring plan, I'm here to help you reach what you're hoping for. I have a writing tablet that connects to our session and you can clearly see everything I'm writing. I can send you these notes afterwards as a revision material.
