About Julie Jo
I have been an educator throughout my 35+ year career in a variety of different fields—museums, community colleges, universities, international universities, and experientially with study abroad courses I created and led. I am very well-traveled in which a city’s museums, galleries, and historic structures are the focus of my visit. I can confidently say that I have experienced and seen in person most of the art and architecture that is the foundation of art history studies.

My teaching specialized on the individual student needs and abilities. I use inquiry based instruction which helps me determine your strengths so you can apply them to the critical analysis of your work and the work of others. A typical lesson would include investigating the physical and cultural aspects of a work of art to reveal its significance and value to the society and artist who produced that work. My lessons are suited for high school students enrolled in AP Art History, undergraduate and graduate studio art, art history, architecture, architectural history, design history, and urban history.
