About Dottie
I taught math for 15 years in Alaska just prior to my retirement in 2018. I miss teaching math and working with numbers, something I really enjoy. My proudest teaching moment was when a past student announced to the local school board that I was responsible for his becoming a successful engineer.

My approach to teaching is to lead the student to discover methods of solving problems using real life experiences, simplistic understandable language, and logical comparisons. I believe that most students who need tutoring have a weak math foundation so I always focus on strengthening that.
