About Stephanie
I taught high school and middle school for 32 years. I have tutored students in most middle school and high school subjects because I love helping students succeed. I love to be active - biking, hiking, kayaking, playing pickleball, weight-lifting, doing yoga. I don't like to sit still. So when I'm not exercising I like to volunteer with older adults (visiting with them, driving them to appointments, doing housework or yard work for them). I love reading (but now I mostly listen to audiobooks or podcasts while I exercise).

I really enjoy tutoring because I love to help students not only improve their grades but improve their self-confidence and become more positive and engaged in learning. The "ah-ha" moment is the best! It is wonderful when students "get it" - they understand the concept and are so happy and proud of themselves! I am so happy when students message me about a quiz or test score. I am glad that I can play a part in their success!
I tutor math, science, study skills, test prep for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, GRE, etc.
I have tutored students from grade 5 through college.
What sets me apart is my ability to keep students engaged, motivated, and invested in their own learning. I am highly energetic outside of tutoring (I bicycle approximately 10,000 miles a year, I play pickleball, I hike, I lift weights, I do yoga), and I bring positive energy to each tutoring session
