About Crissy
I am a retired Special Education and Science Teacher. I received my Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology, a Master's in Education, and I have teaching credentials in Special Education, Science, and Biology. I have a young daughter and my family and I recently moved to Pennsylvania from California. I am committed to helping students progress in their learning journey and strive to make all my lessons fun.

I use a discovery-based approach to teaching that encourages students to actively engage with the material and develop lasting problem-solving skills. In a typical lesson, I present one complex, multi-step problem—similar to a word problem—that students must break down and solve step by step to reach a final answer. This method allows learners to uncover solutions on their own, promoting deeper understanding and long-term retention, rather than relying on memorization of facts and formulas that are easily forgotten. I have many years of experience in teaching students of all ages. I love to help students discover a lifelong love of learning, even when the subject is challenging. I look forward to helping you take the next steps in your learning journey!
