About Christopher

I am a retired university lecturer, formerly in an EAP program in a renowned Japanese university in Tokyo (ICU), in which IELTS was used for level placement and exit from the one-year EAP English program. Here in Newcastle, Australia, I am proud to have taught dozens of students both online and in person, who have successfully passed both the IELTS Academic and General Training exams, and are either now studying in universities here in Australia, or have successfully obtained their work visas by obtaining the required score in the General Training IELTS test.

About the lesson

I teach in a communicative framework utilizing published IELTS materials and actual tests, and follow the format of IELTS in my methodology to provide tuition in the Speaking, Reading, and Writing components of IELTS. Feedback in the Reading and Writing components of the test is given using Google Docs, and within the lesson for the Speaking component. Lessons are typically 50 minutes, including the online provision of Reading and Writing tasks, which are outlined within the lesson time, and completed by the student before the following lesson. I have over 20 years experience with IELTS tuition in Japanese universities, and online and face-to-face individual lessons here in Australia.
