About Tom

I am a Master of Architecture graduate from the University of Cambridge, where I graduated with Distinction in 2025 and was nominated for the Architect’s Journal Student Prize. I currently work at an architectural practice in London where I have over three years of experience contributing to major cultural and institutional projects. Alongside practice, I greatly value staying connected to academia and enjoy translating professional experience into engaging, supportive teaching.

Prior to Cambridge, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Nottingham, graduating with First Class Honours. My work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and commended by the RIBA Journal.

I have experience tutoring students through both one-off sessions and longer-term support, helping them develop projects, strengthen portfolios, and navigate demanding submission periods with greater confidence. I have also led CAD workshops and drawing classes for undergraduate students in Cambridge, combining technical guidance with a calm, collaborative approach tailored to each student’s goals.

About the lesson

I'm here to help students with their university entry applications, undergraduate projects, and part 1 job applications! Each session is tailored to the student's specific needs with our aims established at the beginning of the sessions and a short progress review at the end. The sessions are designed to be friendly, creative and engaging. The types of sessions I can teach are as follows, though these can be adjusted to each individual: 1. University and Job Applications: I can offer general application advice and review portfolios, personal statements and CVs. These sessions can also be structured like mock interviews to give you the best chance to get into your desired course or job position. 2. Project and Design Development: Like a University tutor, I can help guide you through your project, from early concept stages through to technical and environmental strategies, providing feedback and reviews along the way. 3. Software and Skills Tutorials: I have experience in tutoring AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as physical model making and hand drawing.
